Sergey Kolesnikov - Signature

Record: 2010-2011 • Edition: 2018 • USC-WR-1506.0268
Berlin School, Ambient

Epochs shift epochs. New structures are formed under the tips of the fingers. The stream of thoughts flows freely, and ideas are born as if by themselves. You create worlds with one pass of a hand, before which you prostrate yourself subsequently. And then a stunning music breaks out from under your rough hands, over which you have no power. It rushes to where time and space merge into a single whole. Its motif, changing imperceptibly, carries you into the ocean of sound. The steps of the sequences alternate, responding to the aspirations of the soul of an invisible genius nurtured by the experience of generations. And in all this – the integrity of a majestic music! Perhaps this is how happiness sings, and delight fills the cup of appeasement? What can be more beautiful than the contemplation of how the creator creates his creation, and creation creates its creator? No thoughts, no words... There is only a dissolution of consciousness in the music, on which the time itself left its imprint.

Gediminas Bytautas - Nonexistence of Existence

Record: 2006-2010 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1307.0164
Industrial, Experimental

Movement is essential for life. When you look around, you see the dynamic processes everywhere: so it was, so it is, so it will be. But when the objects stop and rest, they are likely fall out of a running stream and become nonexistent for those, who are moving. They are in their own system of interaction, concentrated on the inner evolution. There are two states of nonexistence: before and after stir - two seeming existences, because still objects are real for each other, while different by intentions. This seeming reality is called nonexistence of existence.

mutmut - Utter

Record: 2001 • Edition: 2012 • USC-WR-1211.0122
Lowercase, Experimental

Music for individuals, who believe in ordinary of post-modern conceptions of language and also in transformer vault's mystic essence. The collage of separate diverse scenes presented as stills of possible tragic or weird events. Made in a tradition of early electronic music, it shows the dull pictures of polar station, maybe abandoned and partially deenergized, odd labs with obscure aggregation, containers with viscous liquids. In general, all that we have a great opportunity to watch in science fiction films.

Waiting for the opening of the subway. Phantasmagoria with electric swamp and its mechanical residents, neon forest and haze where it is so easy to get lost. A ball of urban weekdays. Pathos of the authorities and poverty in homes. Mass migration. Prostration. Arizona desert, dust in the eyes. Average European July in the eastern traditions of Zen. Indulging in free and unpredictable, but clever improvisations, the author creates a gallery of abstract shapes, as elusive and ethereal as dreams.

Step by step goes the time. Cog beats cog is a turn. Be on the bleeding edge of a progress or be a cogwheel if you want. Not possible to catch a moment - you think while it's gone. Hold the pulse for an instant to comprehend. See the wonders with your eyes on the run. Take the bliss - nobody would do this for you. Optimum is maximum at a minimum. Don't take much - take the whole. Don't stay long - better go. Get it fast - this is how.

Saty - Orbstatic

Record: 2011 • Edition: 2012 • USC-WR-1203.0035
Drone Ambient

This piece of art is not about melody and has no form. The amorphous curves created of nothing evolve into fanciful objects are employed into various scenes. The grand spectacle is opened in ones sight spiced with scraps of reality. Any human involvement is hidden under the impression of sound shaped by nobody, rather something beyond the grasp of the mind. It sheds from the fracture of unrevealed shapes to play with your consciousness and rush away into abyss.

WMRI - Shelter

Record: 2008 • Edition: 2012 • USC-WR-1203.0032
Dark Ambient, Industrial

The album dark as the night. It is separated into two parts. First part consists of four drifting and droning tracks fading each other. Second part consists of a long complex track and shorter track that's actually a Shelter main theme. While first part is mostly based around deep low drones, surrounding sounds and minimal, except a noisy drone piece in the end, the second part is based on industrial echoes, longer piece starts with some even melodic theme and moves towards to the emotionless drift with minor drone beats and for the second section the far bell sounds appear. Shelter theme is a separate topic for discussion as it's a complete scene of factory interior: hammer-like drone beats and noise splashes give the unique feeling of a safe and dangerous place at once. The idea of noise splashes was later used once again in Wires.

sokpb avabodha - Реквием по аналоговому сигналу (Requiem for an Analogue Signal)

Record: 2009 • Edition: 2012 • USC-WR-1203.0030
Experimental, Dark Ambient, Noise

Improvisation recorded in real time with no further processing. Very experimental record researching the stages of signal processing, moving from noise to dark drones. These soundscapes are getting more mysterious as the processing goes. The last part of the title composition gets completely twisted with effects featuring the harrowing screams of some abstract creatures.

Holzweg - The Birds

Record: 2007 • Edition: 2012 • USC-WR-1202-0022
Ambient, Modern Classical, New Age

This album of Holzweg combines melodic electronic music with chillout and new age moods. Dreamy and light compositions draw images of a morning city covered with shining haze in sunrise. Slow parts of music evoke a sense of thoughtful tranquility, and more dynamic tunes transform it into waiting of a new day, full of experiences, but not fussy. Run of time seems to slow down to allow us to feel and to see all beauty and majesty of this world.
