Vortex Mechanic - After Us

Record: 2016 • Edition: 2016 • USC-WR-1609.0330
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Ambient

«Everything has its limit, including sorrow.» - Joseph Brodsky Getting to know ourselves and our world, we have came to conclusion that our lifetime is calculable: in moments. Contrary to common sense we fell into euphoria of eternal existence. Are we trying to understand it in front of the silent eternity - nothing? Our being is reduced to a bestial way of life, and even the undeniable advantage in us has lost its value and paled in satiated ecstasy, which has become the meaning of our existence. It's time to think about what will stay after us. Is all that we can - is to leave waste products, however confirming with confidence that we once were? Could we make a better world? Were we able to move even one iota in our development in comparison to the moment of our arrival to the Universe? However, we succeeded in the projections and fantasies about what will be the finale of mankind on our tiny planet. With great relish we mentally destroy our race, and those destructive feelings that we experience at the same time are comparable in strength to the emotional pleasure of creation. And the worst thing about it is that our imaginations have become feasible with the advent of technology. That which elevates us before nature and God is able to destroy us in an instant, and we won't even have time to realize that this is the end... Each generation of people looks with a hope to the heirs, who must justify the investment in their efforts to become better and surpass their ancestors. However, mankind is not getting better - knowledge and progress doesn't contribute to this. To have at least a drop of hope that we are able to pass the descendants anything except ruins. Just a hope... Eventually, without it nothing at all remains...

Space Dust - Quintessence

Record: 2002-2003 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1411.0236
Progressive Trance, Techno

We stand at the very beginning of our Universe, just about thirteen billion years from its birth, and there are at least a few hundred billion years ahead. Still fresh is the memory about the beginning of time and space, about the moment when there was nothing and everything had appeared. Knowing how the Universe was born, we can suppose how it will change, and where it will go to. Hypotheses already exist now, but is our world so predictable? It can be that it is much more complicated, because during the short period of conscious and highly developed existence of mankind - just some century - we managed to learn so much and we don't stop to learn more and more. The space more recently seemed to be the most static and stable thing in the Universe. But now we know that this it is not so. It appears that it is continuously expanding, and this process is constantly accelerating. Mysterious force leading to this effect - the dark energy - is probably fluctuations of density of some unseen elusive field called quintessence. It's hard to believe that three fourth of existing Universe are still hidden from human eyes, but this fact reminds how reality can be more wonderful than any fantasy.

Joost Egelie - Particles

Record: 2012-2013 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1410.0226
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Space

In a journey through life one may experience periods of reflection, search for new beginnings and deeper philosophies. The most important and impacting episodes of life leave an imprint of a shifting style of common work, artistry, intercourse, mood and even way of life. Such unpredictable changes are similar to the behavior of elementary particles: physically so small that only imagination can help to see them, and as a matter of fact so huge that their influence is noticeable across the Universe. Particles are unseen, unimaginable, in dimensions other than the concrete four ones we can witness. And most of all - they tell our stories, of human beings: acting, reacting, interacting, interfering. Just let your mind, which is made of stardust, float along the strings and dimensions. Dream away...

Joost Egelie - From Mars to Earth

Record: 2010 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1409.0222
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

As a sequel to Music for Mars Missions, the journey home is quite different though there are some similarities. As it is technically not possible yet to make a journey to Mars and return at once, some time will pass. A base on the Red Planet needs to be built and a new space ship has to be constructed in orbit. But when it finally comes to leaving Mars, a golden ark will set the course home. This first ship will be laden with new technologies and understandings of how to preserve life on a planetary scale. Things learnt on Mars may form the key to saving Earth, because by the time we return home with our knowledge of terraforming, the Blue Planet may be badly in need of this process too. A ship carrying hope for the future...

Vortex Mechanic - Forecasting the Future

Record: 2013-2014 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1409.0220
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Psy-Ambient

Future. Forthcoming. The state of time which will certainly happen and take form of the present. But in this instance future is not a state of time, future is a state of society, culture and science. Being in progress, the world follows from age to age, and then a moment comes when every dweller on Earth may say for sure: "Yes, I'm already living in the future now, it has come!". This state of society ripens very slowly, but inevitably - hereof futurists, scientists and sociologists say. Touch of the future can be felt more and more in the present. And one day, as quite occasionally, but leaving no doubts, so rapidly the age of tomorrow comes and enters everyday life of everyone. Let's look what is occurring around us. Reuniting all factors, we can say with confidence, that the future is already knocking at our doors! We live in the century of premonition of aftertime - a little more and it will come. Are we ready for this?

Joost Egelie - Music for Mars Missions

Record: 2009 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1409.0218
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

It is said that man can achieve anything in his dreams. Less than 500 years ago Copernicus discovered that Earth was not the center of the universe. In 1609 Galileo Galilei pointed his telescope on various planets in our Solar System. From then on the dream began. What are those strange lines on the surface of Mars? Are we alone, circling the sun? These questions still puzzle us. And there is only one way to find out for sure - to set foot on Mars, like we did in 1969 on the Moon. Not just to set another flag and claim more resources for eager consumers, but to find a new approach. The rover missions taught us already that Mars may actually be a view on the distant future of Earth, if we continue planetary exploitation in such a pace. Mars offers us a chance to go back to the drawing board and to do everything as it should be. Instead of robing a planet, where everything we need is fully available, we have to learn how hard it is for a man to become a god-terraformer and create a habitable place from scratch.

Lost Radiance - Upon Us

Record: 2014 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1407.0210
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Space Ambient

Look around - and you will see the endless majesty of cosmos, a myriad of stars, whose light goes hundreds, thousands, millions and billions years. What keeps us from reaching them? Damned relativity! But there is a way to overcome it! In the beginning there were only thoughts, concepts. Alcubierre drive, Krasnikov tube. There only one challenge remains: generation of matter with negative density of energy - and forward, to the stars! There, where new life, new intelligence, new destination await! So far, these are only dreams... It is necessary to develop a theory. It is necessary to fund the experiments. Begin constructing devices unseen ever before. All this is for the flight to a distant planet. And lo, a massive complex is being built gradually. A spaceship with a strange structure is being designed. Finally everything's ready! Starship is ready for the first leap. Distance ahead, unexplored before, in some three light years (come to think of it that we may already say: "some three light years"!). Attention! Start! The leap is performed flawlessly. After a few weeks ship comes back with detailed snapshots of the nearest star - Proxima Centauri. This event is celebrated all over the globe. A hope is born, that there will be no need to slice and torture the planet tired of mankind. Finally there'll be enough place for everybody - after all the Universe has no boundaries.

Quantum Mechanics - Long Way to Nowhere

Record: 2013 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1312.0196
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

This is an expression of desire to learn the ideas of modern theoretical physics and natural sciences as a whole. This is a view from the side at what is happening with science and human thought. This is a search of something, not simply imperceptible and being beyond understanding, but such that could explain causation of everything. New interpretation of paths followed by the modern physics, redefinition of the universal laws and doubts which are reinforced by the new revolutionary movements in science, lead to thought that all the tangled trails of research, by and large, - just a long way to nowhere.

WMRI - The Source of Universal Energy

Record: 2008-2010 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1311.0190
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

The search for energy is vital question of human existence, because he is highly dependent on it in modern life; the need is growing, while resources are drying up faster and faster. There is a fragile hope on space resources, but this is not a cheap gamble, full of risk, requiring large attachment of knowledge and being fraught with deep reefs, but in the end this also demands exorbitant resources. But some scientists dream of an infinite energy source and even claim that it exists. The invisible ether around is the base of everything in the Universe and the miraculous perpetuum mobile that contains whole energy, essentially it is the cause and the primary source of everything.

In the wake of tramp-Voyager, on the narrow pathway of stardust, upon the steps of brave explorer and pioneer we rush into depths of other spaces. Charming by its majesty, expanse widens in front of us: the ocean of silence and calm, eternity of countless light years of flight. Stars - rare violators of the gravitational quiet - flash sometimes on observation screen, separated by days and months of traveling. Infinity swirls by nebulae and currents of radiation hides in time folds, appears sometimes among the people and disappears immediately. Wondering about nature of temporal matters, we realize suddenly that we are sowing Eternity here and now, right from the board of spaceship, time and again rushing after the shadow of fellow Voyager 2 into depths of the unknown, twinkling mysteriously straight ahead, stunningly near and inconceivably far.

Quantum Mechanics - Waves, Fields & Particles

Record: 2011 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1309.0176
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

Quantum mechanics is not simply a branch of physics or some direction in science. Quantum mechanics is a very different conception on the reality around us and about our place in the world. To understand what it means, here is an example of such idea: if two interrelated electron are divided by space as big as the universe, and we affect one of them, the second electron instantly react to changes with the first. This is not a signal between them - it is the relationship as a single whole system. If we bear in mind that the universe came from the one Big Bang, then reality surrounding us is a single entity, and everything we perceive is the design of this whole.

WMRI - Tenth Anniversary

Record: 2003-2013 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1309.0175
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

Traditional electronic music - a genre that will never be popular. It is too romantic and not the story of the household chores, too tactful and do not impose itself on the listener. There are always a bit of composers who are ready to give up their claims to the easily achievable popularity in the name of intelligent romance - it's usually home musicians who work for the pleasure, if not into the desk drawer - and in our time in Russia there are only a few of them. This year, one of those few projects - WMRI - celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Sirius Radiance - Keys to Infinity

Record: 2013 • Edition: 2013 • USC-WR-1308.0169
Space, Dark Ambient

It all started with the cold light of stars. They glanced into illuminators, creating reflections on the control panel, running reflections inside the floating motionless in the silence ship. Surrounded by alien luminaries for a billion parsecs from home, you dwell in the intergalactic quietness and charm of spread before the consciousness abyss. How could the Universe sound? How to hear it? Exemption from impenetrable protective shell and a spacewalk should bring to the knowledge of pure creation, removing all technological barriers. Along with timeless knowledge wash over memories of childhood, when the rings of Saturn illuminated tiny cradle, lulling muted glow and a leisurely rotation. Reminiscences the long deserted old research station, where experience has been acquired, where lingering journey to unknown has begun: path through time and space, pursuit of elusive answers to ageless questions - the keys to infinity.
