Thousands of impulses pull out the consciousness from the realm of Morpheus, forcing you to wake up. Outside the window the dawn is breaking, and the rays of sunlight strike your eyes, heralding a new day. And this day will be headlong like all the others! You’ll habitually hop a bus, and go to work. And on the way you won’t help feeling: “was it a dream... or is it a dream all around...?”.

The world of depth is full of amazing creatures of nature, many of which exist there for thousands or even millions of years practically unchanged. This environment is extreme for most living beings, which also protects these creatures from unnecessary attention. Huge pressure has prompted these organisms to adapt, making their appearance completely unearthly. The sun's rays are scattered and decayed at such depth, the outlines and details of the underwater ridges are dying out, and behind the cloudy shroud there opens an abyss in the colors of the iolite.

Who knows, maybe Delta Pavonis is destined to become a new sun for mankind. We made calculations, built a spaceship for long-range flight and prepared an expedition. Cosmonauts were cast into anabiosis to go through G-force easier and to reduce resource consuming. The onboard computer was obligated to control the spaceship’s course as well as crew’s state. In a distance of tens of billions kilometers retrorockets ignited. Meanwhile the star gradually grew in objective lenses of cameras. Onboard navigation system made calculations and built up the trajectory: the fourth planet orbiting in the habitable zone. While the spaceship was approaching, the machines collected data: atmospheric gases, temperature and ground-level pressure, humidity and weather conditions, radiation level, thickness of ozone layer and strength of magnetic field, as well as search for traces of life. Happily the planet turned out to be similar to Earth in many properties, and the next step was to determine a landing site and a place for building of the future colony. Robots deployed a planetary base and began comprehensive works to prepare for the moment when the human himself could take the first step into this brand-new world...”

You know, as they used to say: “there is a cloudless future ahead of us!”, without investing much meaning into these words. Why do the clouds really matter? Sometimes they hide the Sun and the stars, and emit the light as by themselves, creating a unique spectacle. Silently floating across the sky they remind us of something familiar – the silhouettes of people and animals, the outlines of things – and go on their way, fragile and changeable. Who would have thought that the future without clouds is capable of destroying life on the planet… Man treated nature so carelessly: exploited its resources, caused technogenic disasters, polluted the atmosphere and in every possible way crippled the unfortunate Earth. In the end she could not stand it – something broke in the ecosystem, and the climate changed. The clouds, which served as a natural shield against harmful ultraviolet, melted. As explained by scientists, the circulation of water vapor in the atmosphere was disrupted. The sky appeared forbidden. Even a short stay under it became deadly. Many forms of life unable to adapt to new conditions became extinct, others had to look for ways to survive. Then the top brains threw all their forces to search for the solution and found it – the synthesis of the clouds. The construction of cloud factories was unfolded, and soon clouds appeared again in the firmament. And one day the world woke up under a new artificial sky.
