Astrovia - Ambienaut

Record: 2003-2018 • Edition: 2018 • USC-WR-1803.0405
Space Ambient

One day we put on the headphones, turn on the music and... find ourselves in a parallel dimension. The picture of reality begins to change, the space is filled with unknown boundless waters of sound passages and melisms. Consciousness resists at first, trying to grasp the usual material patterns, but the element of sound is inexorable. Images from dreams, abstractions and unseen landscapes engulf the traveler’s mind. Ambienaut. The one who knows a secret: how to use music to open a portal into the inner sea... Where did the idea of this mystical music come from? Could it be that the first ambient was recorded by a supercivilization that lived at the dawn of the Universe? And the memory of it remained in the world information field. Or, one day, in an abandoned space laboratory, devices and computers with artificial intelligence left in the switched-on state continued the research program... and perceived secrets of the Universe, having expressed them in sound. But who is destined to discover this knowledge for mankind? We will visit different worlds in the universe of music of ambiance and find out why only Ambienaut will cope with the task like that...

Sergey Kolesnikov - Signature

Record: 2010-2011 • Edition: 2018 • USC-WR-1506.0268
Berlin School, Ambient

Epochs shift epochs. New structures are formed under the tips of the fingers. The stream of thoughts flows freely, and ideas are born as if by themselves. You create worlds with one pass of a hand, before which you prostrate yourself subsequently. And then a stunning music breaks out from under your rough hands, over which you have no power. It rushes to where time and space merge into a single whole. Its motif, changing imperceptibly, carries you into the ocean of sound. The steps of the sequences alternate, responding to the aspirations of the soul of an invisible genius nurtured by the experience of generations. And in all this – the integrity of a majestic music! Perhaps this is how happiness sings, and delight fills the cup of appeasement? What can be more beautiful than the contemplation of how the creator creates his creation, and creation creates its creator? No thoughts, no words... There is only a dissolution of consciousness in the music, on which the time itself left its imprint.

WMRI - Iolite Abyss

Record: 2018 • Edition: 2018 • USC-WR-1802.0404
Space Ambient

The deep-sea world contains many mysteries. It is almost unexplored, as only a few obsessed researchers went to dark depths. The bizarre relief pattern extends for many miles, rising and falling smoothly, disappearing in the cliffs and reappearing from the void. The entanglement of water streams piercing the boundless reservoirs with its net and rushing in unknown directions. The world of depth is full of amazing creatures of nature, many of which exist there for thousands or even millions of years practically unchanged. This environment is extreme for most living beings, which also protects these creatures from unnecessary attention. Huge pressure has prompted these organisms to adapt, making their appearance completely unearthly. The sun's rays are scattered and decayed at such depth, the outlines and details of the underwater ridges are dying out, and behind the cloudy shroud there opens an abyss in the colors of the iolite.

Marcus Denight - Legends of the Imminent Winter

Record: 2016 • Edition: 2018 • USC-WR-1802.0403
Traditional Electronic, New Age

The silent winter chill gave sparkling tenderness. Blue freshness blazed, pushing away chains of darkness. And in this snowy tanglement the distance shone under the moonlight. Windy dreams hurried to the cold branches. Fluffy snow like shores of glowing vasts; the azure of skies is home of clearness: shaky shapes are barely visible through blueness. Round dance of memories circled loudly along with it in motion of frozen sounds in crystal icy whiteness. And there’s is incomprehensible mystery hidden in every snowflake fallen to the ground. Late sunrises meet someone’s dreams, while winter outside the window is composing a new legends — legends of the imminent winter...

«I love this place. Here, there is a unique atmosphere at any season. On that chilly summer evening when I came here with my friend Alexey, the air was especially thick and filled with bittersweet wettish freshness. Here, you fall into a special state, sitting on the recently scythed grass and looking down from the hill at power lines stretching away. It is here where several little worlds come together: a forest to the left and the right, a tiny village living its hasteless life under the hill, and the slight noise of a bustling city coming from far behind. And above, the steel giants of power line towers soaring against the darkening summer sky, which soon will be cut across by the Perseids. It is here where you take a rest from the hustle, and music itself fills your mind to later find its material form.»

Various Artists - Music for Sputnik-1 Vol. 1

Record: 2000-2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1710.0381
Berlin School, Ambient, Spacesynth, Indietronica, Modern Classical

Sputnik-1 is a symbol of the embodiment of a dream into reality. When all the forces are thrown at its achievement, despite the pressure of circumstances, despite the internal turmoil in the people and the country. In 60 years after this event, we can only feel the echoes of the former glory and aspirations, but even this fills us with pride for our people, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, no matter what side events have marred this milestone in history. This is the main focus of our collection.

Derek Nigell - Heartbeat of the Universe

Record: 2017 • Edition: 2017 • USC-WR-1710.0380
Space Ambient, Berlin School, Electro

Cosmos – calling, mysterious, endless and magnificent... If only we could plunge into this boundless ocean of stars twinkling mystically as if they watch us from the night sky! To learn who weaves a cobweb of constellations, which helped sailors to navigate since ancient times. To dance a flying roundelay of planets in curves of Milky Way to the music of the Universe... A secret – inconceivable, enticing and fascinating! Can you hear? This is the call of distant strange worlds! Can you see? There is that star! It feels like it is sending us some message! What does it want to say? A secret... A secret... A secret... Oh how much we want to learn, to comprehend, to touch! To become a particle – a star dust particle... Where are you, the Little Prince? How's your Rose? How's the Fox? Are you happy? Answer, please! Silence... I'm here. I'm standing on the ground. I'm inhaling autumn gold. And the maple in the yard is waving to me with his last leaves-hands. Soon his applause shall fade... But, Universe! I'm still here and I hear you! I'm hearing the beat of your heart...

«It was during a walk with my friend Nickolay. Despite the fact that it was summer, the weather was really autumnal, gloomy. We were going along the route – the forest belt, and then, in an instant, the forest went apart, and we found ourselves at the place, where the giants had been living. Steel silent idols were in fact the power line towers. A light twilight; the magnificence of the giants, who stood with their legs wide apart and arms outstretched aside to hold power lines firmly. With their heads they propped up the sky, as if emphasizing their greatness and significance. Are they lonely and silent? Not at all! They are talking to each other: slowly, in a low voice. They are wired!»

Vortex Mechanic - After Us

Record: 2016 • Edition: 2016 • USC-WR-1609.0330
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Ambient

«Everything has its limit, including sorrow.» - Joseph Brodsky Getting to know ourselves and our world, we have came to conclusion that our lifetime is calculable: in moments. Contrary to common sense we fell into euphoria of eternal existence. Are we trying to understand it in front of the silent eternity - nothing? Our being is reduced to a bestial way of life, and even the undeniable advantage in us has lost its value and paled in satiated ecstasy, which has become the meaning of our existence. It's time to think about what will stay after us. Is all that we can - is to leave waste products, however confirming with confidence that we once were? Could we make a better world? Were we able to move even one iota in our development in comparison to the moment of our arrival to the Universe? However, we succeeded in the projections and fantasies about what will be the finale of mankind on our tiny planet. With great relish we mentally destroy our race, and those destructive feelings that we experience at the same time are comparable in strength to the emotional pleasure of creation. And the worst thing about it is that our imaginations have become feasible with the advent of technology. That which elevates us before nature and God is able to destroy us in an instant, and we won't even have time to realize that this is the end... Each generation of people looks with a hope to the heirs, who must justify the investment in their efforts to become better and surpass their ancestors. However, mankind is not getting better - knowledge and progress doesn't contribute to this. To have at least a drop of hope that we are able to pass the descendants anything except ruins. Just a hope... Eventually, without it nothing at all remains...

Exalot - Time Slice

Record: 1995-2014 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1410.0230
Traditional Electronic, Spacesynth, Space Ambient

Time has no beginning and no end, but we can take a segment even from infinity. To take a slice of time and to put it on a table of the expert, who can explain the meaning of what is happening there. The past is so murky that it often becomes an object of thorough study: if not it, then what else has a direct link with where, or better say, how we do exist. At the same time, the future is being built before our eyes and by our hands, although at times it is unpredictable - only if in the nearest perspective... Nevertheless, we would prefer far future this time. Let's imagine the vast expanses of space, amazing beauty of nebulae clouds and galaxies. Majestic huge spaceships and small yachts of all sorts of shapes. The richness of life, worldview and understanding of the Universe. Contemplating this all with a human sight, it is impossible to imagine the proportionality of human mind on the planet Earth and cosmic endlessness.

Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Space

In a journey through life one may experience periods of reflection, search for new beginnings and deeper philosophies. The most important and impacting episodes of life leave an imprint of a shifting style of common work, artistry, intercourse, mood and even way of life. Such unpredictable changes are similar to the behavior of elementary particles: physically so small that only imagination can help to see them, and as a matter of fact so huge that their influence is noticeable across the Universe. Particles are unseen, unimaginable, in dimensions other than the concrete four ones we can witness. And most of all - they tell our stories, of human beings: acting, reacting, interacting, interfering. Just let your mind, which is made of stardust, float along the strings and dimensions. Dream away...

Nevertheless, this doesn't detract their importance. Let inspiration become an engine, let fire light up in your eyes. Feel excitement in your heart - overcome gravity of workaday routine, throw off ties of commonness. Personal discoveries allow to take a new look on surrounding reality, but also they give new experiences - herefrom the new vision takes its rise. To lift up above the ground in the own first flight to see the essence of things at least once - then the world in your eyes will change.

As a sequel to Music for Mars Missions, the journey home is quite different though there are some similarities. As it is technically not possible yet to make a journey to Mars and return at once, some time will pass. A base on the Red Planet needs to be built and a new space ship has to be constructed in orbit. But when it finally comes to leaving Mars, a golden ark will set the course home. This first ship will be laden with new technologies and understandings of how to preserve life on a planetary scale. Things learnt on Mars may form the key to saving Earth, because by the time we return home with our knowledge of terraforming, the Blue Planet may be badly in need of this process too. A ship carrying hope for the future...

Vortex Mechanic - Forecasting the Future

Record: 2013-2014 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1409.0220
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School, Psy-Ambient

Future. Forthcoming. The state of time which will certainly happen and take form of the present. But in this instance future is not a state of time, future is a state of society, culture and science. Being in progress, the world follows from age to age, and then a moment comes when every dweller on Earth may say for sure: "Yes, I'm already living in the future now, it has come!". This state of society ripens very slowly, but inevitably - hereof futurists, scientists and sociologists say. Touch of the future can be felt more and more in the present. And one day, as quite occasionally, but leaving no doubts, so rapidly the age of tomorrow comes and enters everyday life of everyone. Let's look what is occurring around us. Reuniting all factors, we can say with confidence, that the future is already knocking at our doors! We live in the century of premonition of aftertime - a little more and it will come. Are we ready for this?

Joost Egelie - Music for Mars Missions

Record: 2009 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1409.0218
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

It is said that man can achieve anything in his dreams. Less than 500 years ago Copernicus discovered that Earth was not the center of the universe. In 1609 Galileo Galilei pointed his telescope on various planets in our Solar System. From then on the dream began. What are those strange lines on the surface of Mars? Are we alone, circling the sun? These questions still puzzle us. And there is only one way to find out for sure - to set foot on Mars, like we did in 1969 on the Moon. Not just to set another flag and claim more resources for eager consumers, but to find a new approach. The rover missions taught us already that Mars may actually be a view on the distant future of Earth, if we continue planetary exploitation in such a pace. Mars offers us a chance to go back to the drawing board and to do everything as it should be. Instead of robing a planet, where everything we need is fully available, we have to learn how hard it is for a man to become a god-terraformer and create a habitable place from scratch.

Joost Egelie - Boundaries of Infinity

Record: 2005-2007 • Edition: 2014 • USC-WR-1408.0214
Traditional Electronic, Berlin School

Exploring the great universes between the particles so small, human mind explores the boundaries of itself. Natural contrasts are built upon the energy fluctuations, creating matter and antimatter, whereas a man tries to embody everything that he can imagine. In the end, we may have created existence and cosmos ourselves. There is a lot more to it than just letting two atoms collide at high energy levels. Are we the ones able to learn, in what way the cogwheels of the Universe turn? We just have to sit out the ride on the space roller coaster, watching the blazonry. Boundaries are relative, as they can be broken. Particle accelerators eventually provide more answers to questions lying beyond these boundaries. This is the quest in search of the Theory of Everything. Do we really wish to know, how it works?
